This is an opportunity to share a challenging and instructional case on a patient with cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) or other biliary tract cancer with your colleagues. Please see below for the specific categories and the instructions for submitting the case presentation.

To Participate

Please submit an outline of the case report by midnight (ET) on Friday, September 16.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Summit Program Steering Committee, and you will be notified on or around Friday, September 16, if your case is accepted for presentation during a Special Session titled “Challenging Cases in BTC” on Friday, October 14.

If accepted, you will be expected to create a PowerPoint slide presentation for a 5-minute presentation and a 10-minute discussion.

Case Report Guidelines

• Initial case submissions for consideration should be prepared as a Microsoft Word document. The case report must fit on no more than 5 pages, 8.5” × 11”, using a 10- or 12-point Arial font
• Cases should include the following elements:
  • Patient description
  • Case history
  • Relevant physical examination results
  • Results of diagnostic tests and other investigations
  • Treatment plan
  • Outcome of the treatment plan

Since an Audience Response System (ARS) will be available at the CCA Summit, your case should include multiple-choice questions integrated into the flow of the presentation so that audience members can weigh in on management decisions during the case discussion.

You are encouraged to prepare a case in consultation with your mentor or a senior member of your healthcare team, with whom you can make your presentation. A senior faculty member will lead a discussion of your case during your presentation, in which you are encouraged to participate actively.

Encore/Previously Presented Information

• Cases previously presented at other conferences will be considered. Information regarding the previous presentation should be included in the document you will be submitting. Permission to reproduce may need to be granted as well (see below)..

Permission to Reproduce

• All accepted case presentations will be placed on the CCA News website and be included in the December issue of CCA News. That special issue will feature highlights from the Summit. By submitting a case, it is understood that you grant permission to reproduce the case as written.

Topics of Cases

• The Challenging Cases session is meant to be instructive and educational, so the case presentation should be brief and concise and stimulate discussion among attendees.
• Issues that could be raised by the case include, but are not limited to:
  • The role of immunotherapy in combination with chemotherapy or targeted therapy in treating CCA
  • Use of neoadjuvant therapy in BTC
  • A patient’s disease progresses on treatment with an FGFR inhibitor—what should you do next?
  • Choosing between locoregional therapy and systemic therapy in a patient with CCA—benefits and drawbacks

Notification

• Notification regarding a decision will be made via e-mail to the designated contact person on or around September 16.
• Upon acceptance, further instructions regarding the case presentation will be provided.

This is an opportunity to share data from your research studies on cholangiocarcinoma (CCA) or other biliary tract cancers with your colleagues. Please see below for the specific categories and the instructions for submitting a poster abstract for presentation during the meeting.

To Participate

Please submit an abstract of your research project by midnight (ET) on Thursday, September 7th.

All submissions will be peer-reviewed by the Summit Program Steering Committee, and you will be notified on or around Thursday, September 14th, if your poster is accepted for display and/or presentation.

If accepted, you will be expected to create a poster for display.

Abstract Guidelines

General

• All abstracts should be prepared as a Microsoft Word document. Abstracts must fit on a single 8.5” × 11” page using a 10- or 12-point Arial font.
• Word count: 500. This does not include the title, author listing, or references.
• All abstracts must include full author names (including any applicable degrees) and author primary affiliations.
• Primary contact information will be captured on the following submission page.
• All accepted abstracts must have at least 1 representative as a registered attendee of the conference.

Abstract Content

• Abstracts MUST INCLUDE: Title, Authors, Background, Objectives, Methods, Results, and Conclusions.
• Generic names should be used for drugs and devices, not trade names.
• Abbreviations may be used in the text of the abstracts if they are defined. Spell out the term at the first full mention and follow with the abbreviation in parentheses.
• Figures/Tables will not be permitted in the abstract.

Disclosures

• If the research within your abstract is sponsored in any way by a pharmaceutical company, you must indicate this on your abstract. This information will not be part of the word count. Individual author disclosures are not required.

Encore/Previously Presented Information

• Posters previously presented at other conferences are welcome. Information regarding the previous presentation should be included in the document you will be submitting. Permission to reproduce may need to be granted as well (see below).

Permission to Reproduce

• All accepted abstracts will be placed on the CCA News website and be included in the December issue of CCA News. That special issue will feature highlights from the Summit. By submitting an abstract, it is understood that the primary author has the permission of the coauthors, and any applicable conference or journal, to reproduce the abstract as written.
